If you had only asked..........................

I know you busy, so much calling and pulling you in life.

Work, activities for the kids. Church events, parties and programs.

You pass by almost every day never thinking someone else might need a touch. A prayer.

So busy everyone is today. No one wants to be a bother. Just taking care of myself and my own.

People are lost and dying. No one seems to see. Sick and broken yet no one knows.

When did it become a bother to look in on a neighbor. Call a friend. Take food to the hungry.

Is it really so hard to show someone you care?

As I sit here and type this out my heart is burning somewhere deep within.

When I stand before my Father when my life is over, what will I hear him say?

-"how could you let that neighbor die with nothing to eat?"

-"how could you go to your church service after service and never take someone with you?"

-"how did you expect that homeless person to know about my love and salvation?"

-"why do you think I gave you the blessings? to horde and keep for yourself?"

-"did you not read where I commanded you to go into the world, teaching and preaching? did you not read in my word the example I left?"

-"how many people could you have reached had you gone and knocked on a few doors?"

I am so bothered by the churches of today. So many programs, so many parties and foodfests. But where are the people that need what Jesus has to offer?

When was the last time you took someone who had nothing to eat out to eat with you? When was the last time you checked on an elderly or handicaped person to see if they were in need?

Can you honestly think we can be saved living with an "out of sight out of mind" mentality?

Who is going to reach the children that are battered and bruised. The ones that end up in jail and prison because they know nothing more in life.

It sickens me how far the church as a whole has strayed from what God intended.

The sinners say: You are so good to tell us we dress wrong, talk wrong, look wrong. Yet we are the ones that go to bed hungry while you over eat at almost every meal. We are the ones that have no clothes, while you spend more on one outfit than most spend all year long. We are the ones that live in poverty while you buy bigger houses and more cars. We are the ones that have no family, while you hate most of your. We are the ones being abused and used.

But you never show us Gods love. You never show compassion.

Just going through your day, eating, drinking making merry.

Don't mind us they say, we are just lost. Nothing important for you to worry about.

Jas 1:27  Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

It is time the church stands up and does what it was called to do. It is supposed to be a place for the sick, lost, hurting, dying. Not a social club with tons of empty programs.

Do you not wonder why so many come for a little while then just fade away? Perhaps they see the emptiness of it all. If there is nothing to offer but parties and programs, people will not stay.

The world is hungry, desperately hungry for something more.

It is very hard to get people to pray and fast. But I really think it is time the church as a whole falls on their knees, praying and fasting and begging God to forgive them, and to give them a new fresh vision.

The church has LOST its focus.

The church has LOST its vision.

The church has LOST its purpose.

Time to quit playing church. Time to get on your knees. Fast. Pray. Then go and reach the lost.

I challenge you to being to fast and ask God if you are doing what needs to be done. Is your church reaching the lost?

I challenge you to get on your knees and pray until something breaks. Push away your plate and tell God you refuse to eat until you see a move, a change.

Most everyone I know will not be willing to take this challenge. And that is fine.

I plan to begin this for myself. I am going to see a change in my life, with or without you.

Are you willing to pay the price to see the things you are wanting to happen? or do you just offer lip service.

Something has to change! I am changing my part. How about you?
